My name is Danica Lamos and I am senior at Champlain College studying Marketing . I have always had a passion to help others and a deep appreciation for those that act upon it. Being asked to brand myself in one of the last classes I’m taking before graduation in the Spring, I decided that I really wanted to focus on social marketing and the people that are making a difference in the world.  Although born and raised in a small town in Vermont, I’ve always felt that I was born to be a part of something larger than just myself and closest surroundings. I want to travel and volunteer in Africa and be part of the solution to end hunger, I want to interact, make bonds and support lonely children without parents, I want to educate and raise awareness to end HIV/AIDS, and I want to be involved in so many more issues that are directly and constantly affecting this part of the world psychologically, emotionally, and physically. I can’t explain why I have such strong empathy and passion for the betterment of Africa, but the feeling has been with me for a long time and I know that it is important to act upon things you feel strongly about, thus, the  reasoning for my topic choices. Through my blogging , I hope to open the eyes of others and demonstrate that even the small contributions matter in the biggest ways. As I am currently unable to afford traveling to Africa and acting upon my passion while still attending school, I felt that recognizing those that can and are making a difference is just as important. I hope you enjoy and then maybe you’ll find ways in which you can make a positive impact on the world. Nothing is more rewarding than knowing you’ve made a difference.
